Protests in Bogotá for Indigenous Rights.

Formed in response to COVID-19 deaths in Indigenous Shipibo communities in Peru, the Comando Matico's mission is to save lives through plant medicine, to revitalize community knowledge of ancestral medicine, and to regenerate medicinal plant species that have been endangered by deforestation.

Indigenous organizations across the Amazon, along with state agencies and NGOs, created digital infographics to more easily spread consolidated, pertinent information regarding preventative measures against the disease, as well as resources for accessing support.

In Bogota, offering meals and provisions to struggling community members has been a life-saving form of care and mutual aid.

Amid intersecting health and economic crises in Colombia, the Cabildo Indígena Monifue Urukɨ united to build a space for collective support and mutual aid: an urban maloca in Bogotá.
