Marking Time: Chicago Pandemic Stories 1918 / 2020  is a learning resource that incorporates Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Standards for Middle School and High School Social Studies in content disciplines of History, Anthropology, Religious Studies, and Sociology to interpret artworks and cultural materials made by Chicagoans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to better understand its social and material impacts, and to learn about the roles museums play in how communities mark time.

It is also adaptable to informal education settings like Adult Learning contexts, auxiliary art programs, and any other learning settings you might create. You know your students best, and this guide can be tailored to their needs, levels, and learning styles.
